After Huawei was banned from Google, we heard a lot of rumors of Huawei’s own operating system (HongMeng OS). There hasn’t been any official news regarding this but we came to know about this when Yu Chengdong AKA Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business division told that Huawei has been working on its own OS if they lost the support of Android or Microsoft.
Huawei Developer Conference
Huawei is going to conduct its developer conference next month, from 9th of August to 11th of August. This conference will be held in Songshan Lake, Dongguan. This conference will be divided into 3 parts: Keynote speech, Technical forums and Codelabs. The keynote will be about recent developments of Huawei and future planning. The technical forum will be about the upcoming tech including Smart Home, Smart Travel, EMUI, AR and VR, Huawei Pay, etc. The codelabs will offer the attendants to have a hands-on experience of the latest tech and get the feedback.
This conference might be an interesting one because Huawei might give a glimpse of HongMeng OS as we’ve been hearing about that for a long time but there aren’t any clear leaks. This will be a perfect time for Huawei to introduce their OS. According to Huawei, this conference will be consisting of 5G, AI and IoT. Moreover, there will be more than 200 sharing sessions with 1500 partners of Huawei and 5000 developers around the world.
There’s not much told on the invitation other than 5G, AI and IoT but most probably HongMeng OS will be announced but it is not confirmed yet. Also, EMUI 10 may NOT be introduced as last year, EMUI 9 was announced during IFA and the second reason is that Android Q is still in development.
To sum it up, this may be the most exciting Developer Conference of Huawei until now because there are going to be tons of new things and most probably the HongMeng OS. Let’s wait until August and see what happens.
